UPDATE: The northbound lanes on I-75 were reopened just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Northbound lanes on Interstate 75 at the Norwood Lateral were closed around 8 a.m. Thursday.

According to Cincinnati police, the roadway was closed because there was a light pole "in extreme danger of falling across all lanes of traffic."

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.

The closure came as a storm moved through the region, causing power outages. Duke Energy reports there were about 7,000 outages in the Greater Cincinnati region Thursday morning.
